Saahil Chand joined the University of Auckland in 2016, as an undergraduate student in the Engineering department. In 2019, he completed his BE (Hons) in Mechatronics Engineering and in March of 2020, he began his PhD journey with the IAI research team.
He focuses his efforts primarily into human-machine symbiosis, looking actively into forwarding fundamental theory into human-robot collaboration. Following recent global industrial and research trends, he places high significance into human-centric manufacturing. Specifically, the key of his research considers physical and cognitive sensing, monitoring, and optimization, partnered with smart scheduling algorithms which utilize collaborative technologies for applications in human-machine collaboration and assembly.
