Akhilnandh Ramesh (Preferred name: Akhil Ramesh) is currently pursuing his doctoral studies in Smart Manufacturing at The University of Auckland. He was awarded an R&D fellowship grant from Callaghan Innovation (New Zealand crown’s premier innovation agency) to pursue an industrial aligned fellowship with M/S Oasis Engineering (20003) Ltd, Tauranga, a world leading manufacturer of precision engineered valves for a variety of solutions.
His doctoral project aims to develop intelligent factory scheduling and control techniques. This research holds tremendous value in the context of Kiwi manufacturing, which is predominantly concentrated on high value, high technology (often personalised) products of varying batch sizes.
He bring with him a tenacious, excellence-seeking, customer focussed “Can-do” attitude with a strong commitment to work ethics. He has a demonstrated history of working in the fields of Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality Assurance, Procurement and Digital Consulting, with an experience of more than six years, spanning across New Zealand and India, and across medium and large scale manufacturers manufacturing precision engineering products, auto-components manufacturing, machine building and artificial grass manufacturing.
Prior to his doctoral studies, he was pursuing his Master Degree in Engineering Management, specializing in Industry 4.0, at The University of Auckland and graduated with First Class honours. His Master Degree was funded by The University of Auckland International Student Scholarship to the tune of NZD 10,000 (among the 22 applicants chosen from more than 300 candidates).
